I have lipoedema stage III, I have had two bariatric surgeries before I found out that I have an adipose tissue disorder. Liposuction is the only cure for this disease. Get rid of the fat and lipomas and you can get rid of the fluid in the fat by this procedure if done properly to protect the lymph vessels. Two places in the U.S.A. are doing this, but most is done in Germany and Sweeden. Doctors in the U.S. are just now getting on board with this training. There are thousands of women out there waiting for this procedure. Lipoedema or lipedema is considered a rare disorder, but Dr. Karen Herbst, M.D. says isn’t rare, just rare diagnosed.
Do you know of any plastic surgeons in Oregon that are doing this procedure? Are you considering this procedure for your practice? It is not a cosmetic procedure but one that will eventually be paid by insurance as a cure for Lipedema, Adiposis Dolorosa, and lymphadema.
