Mommy Makeover Eugene

Restore smooth, youthful curves after pregnancy & childbirth

Becoming a mom may be the best thing that ever happened to you, but you may not feel the same way about its impact on your body. Pregnancy and childbirth can take their toll: volume loss in the breasts, excess skin and fat on the belly, and stretch marks are common complaints among new moms.

The good news is, you don’t have to put up with such effects on your body if you are unhappy with them. A mommy makeover can help you address unwanted changes to your breasts and body following pregnancy and childbirth, dramatically improving your shape with a single operation.

What procedures does a mommy makeover include?

Depending on the individual, a mommy makeover may include one or more plastic surgery procedures and/or non-surgical body contouring treatments. The most common surgical procedures Dr. Movassaghi performs as part of a mommy makeover include:

For women who are not ready for surgery, or who have only a mild to moderate amount of excess fat or lax skin on the torso, a non-surgical mommy makeover may be an option. Non-surgical treatments can also be an excellent choice to help enhance your appearance following a pregnancy if you think you may have more children in the future, offering noticeable improvements with little to no recovery time required.

“Knowing how I used to look before having my kids I had a hard time accepting what I was then left with. I now feel more confident than I did even in high school. Your work is amazing and I truly appreciate what you’ve done for my self esteem.”

Why consider a mommy makeover?

Pregnancy affects every mom’s body a little differently, so a mommy makeover is tailored to address what concerns you most. Common goals are to improve the appearance of the breasts, abdomen, hips, or thighs. With the help of a skilled, board-certified plastic surgeon, a mommy makeover can help to:

  • Lift, reshape and restore lost volume to the breasts
  • Tighten excess, loose skin on the belly
  • Tighten stretched, protruding abdominal muscles
  • Restore a flatter, firmer midsection
  • Reduce pockets of unwanted fat for a slimmer silhouette
  • Minimize stretch marks

Am I a good mommy makeover candidate?

If you are unhappy with the shape, size, or appearance of your breasts, abdomen, or hips due to the effects of pregnancy or childbirth, a mommy makeover can help restore your figure to more closely match how you looked before having children. A mommy makeover is also an excellent opportunity to help you enhance your figure if you have always wished for fuller breasts or a flatter tummy.

Because a mommy makeover specifically addresses pregnancy-related issues, you should wait to have a mommy makeover until you are finished having children. While a pregnancy following a mommy makeover will not be harmful to your or your child’s health, your results are likely to suffer as your body changes to accommodate a developing baby.

“Dr. Movassaghi is hands down, the most incredibly talented, kind, patient and concise Surgeon out there. Mommy makeover procedure

The surgery details of a mommy makeover depend on the type, number, and extent of procedures being performed. The typical mommy makeover patient will combine a breast enhancement procedure with a tummy tuck. Dr. Movassaghi will usually perform all of a patient’s selected mommy makeover procedures during a single operation. This allows for dramatic improvements with only one recovery period.

Dr. Movassaghi performs mommy makeover surgery at an accredited surgical center, either McKenzie Surgery Center or Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene, Oregon. Most mommy makeovers are outpatient surgeries, although more extensive tummy tucks may require an overnight stay in the hospital.

Recovery after your mommy makeover

Each mommy makeover patient experiences recovery a little differently, depending on the procedures performed. If you are having a tummy tuck as part of your mommy makeover, you will need several weeks to recover before resuming many activities. Typically, patients can expect 2 to 3 weeks away from a sedentary job, and about 6 to 8 weeks before resuming strenuous exercise. If you have drains placed after your tummy tuck, you will need to tend to these as instructed; our nurse will give you detailed instructions for post-operative care.

You can resume driving and other light activities after about 2 weeks, given that you are no longer taking prescription pain medication and you can wear a seat belt comfortably. For the first month or so after surgery, you will need to have consistent help around the house, especially if your children are younger, as you will be not be allowed to lift or carry heavier loads for 4 to 6 weeks.

Mommy Makeover Results

Mommy makeover procedures such as breast augmentation, breast lift, liposuction, and tummy tucks offer long-lasting improvements. So long as you maintain a stable weight, your results will last for many years. With proper care, scars from mommy makeover surgery should fade beautifully and can be easily concealed beneath underwear or a swimsuit.

Keep in mind that significant weight fluctuations or future pregnancies can negatively affect your results. The natural aging process will also have some effect over time, but “resetting the clock” with a mommy makeover can help you enjoy many years of more youthful, attractive curves.

“I am so happy I found Dr. Movassaghi. My consultation was informative and professional while friendly and very relaxing. His office staff is amazing. After the consult I knew I had found the Dr. that I wanted to do my surgery. The results are amazing. Dr. Movassaghi is the man! I can’t speak highly enough of him as well as his team. Try it.. you’ll love your results.”

Frequently Asked Questions about Mommy Makeovers

Ideally, you should decide to undergo your mommy makeover when you’ve finished having children, as additional pregnancies can affect your surgical results. It’s also important to be at a stable, healthy weight and have enough time to dedicate to your recovery.

A mommy makeover is not a weight loss solution; it’s designed to address body contouring by removing excess skin and fat, refining the body contours, and restoring a pre-pregnancy appearance. Rather than relying on a mommy makeover to get you to your goal weight, you should be near your ideal weight before undergoing surgery.

That said, because excess tissue is removed during procedures like a tummy tuck or breast lift, you will naturally lose a small amount of weight immediately after surgery. Many patients find that an active lifestyle is easier to maintain after abdominal muscle repair and skin chaffing is eliminated, leading to more muscle tone and modest weight loss that can enhance your final results. Losing a large amount of weight after a mommy makeover can affect your contours and may cause a lax skin appearance.

The cost of a Eugene mommy makeover varies depending on the number and type of procedures included in your personal surgical plan. During your consultation with Dr. Movassaghi, our patient care coordinators will provide you with a detailed cost estimate based on your customized treatment plan.

As with any surgery, a mommy makeover will leave some scars, but Dr. Movassaghi takes care to skillfully place incisions in discreet areas when possible. Over time, your scars will fade and become much less noticeable, especially when given proper scar care in the months following surgery. Dr. Movassaghi will also provide specific post-operative care tips to help minimize scarring.

Yes, many of our patients choose to complement their mommy makeover with non-surgical treatments like injectables, laser skin resurfacing, or Aveli cellulite reduction for enhanced results. Dr. Movassaghi can recommend options that work best for your goals.

Look for a board-certified plastic surgeon who specializes in breast and body contouring procedures and has extensive experience with mommy makeovers. Review before-and-after photos to assess their work, and read patient reviews for insight into their bedside manner and professionalism. During your consultation, make sure the surgeon takes the time to understand your goals, answers your questions thoroughly, and provides a personalized treatment plan that aligns with your needs. A good bedside manner and a clear understanding of your expectations are key factors in finding the best surgeon for you.
