Breast Lift Eugene

Achieve firmer, more youthful-looking breasts

By lifting sagging tissues and reshaping the breasts into a rounder, firmer contour, a breast lift can help you cheat gravity and enjoy a more beautiful, youthful breast shape once again. Board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Kiya Movassaghi has nearly 20 years of experience performing breast lifts in Eugene.

If you cannot seem to find a bra that is comfortable and “does its job” well, or if you are unhappy with the way your breasts look in or out of clothing, having a breast lift can help give you a breast contour that will make getting dressed every day a lot more enjoyable.

“I have had two different cosmetic surgeries to correct asymmetry in my breasts and have had amazing results. I could not be happier with how they turned out. Dr. Movassaghi did an excellent job and made me feel comfortable and confident throughout the whole process. Everyone at his office went above and beyond making me feel welcomed. I was glad my friend recommended his practice and I would recommend him to anyone now looking for amazing results at an affordable price.”

How do I know if a breast lift is right for me?

There is no single rule that determines whether or not you need a breast lift; however, there are some general characteristics that indicate a good candidate for breast lift surgery:

  • Nipples point downward, not forward
  • The nipple/areola complex sits below the inframammary fold (the crease underneath the breast) when viewed from the side
  • Breasts are moderate to severe asymmetry in shape or size
  • Breasts lack fullness or firmness

Breast lift surgery is tailored to address each of these issues and give you firmer, rounder, and perkier breasts with improved symmetry. A breast lift, with or without implants, is commonly performed as part of a mommy makeover to help restore more youthful breast and body contours following pregnancy and breastfeeding.

If you are unsure whether or not a breast lift might benefit you, take a look at our breast lift before and after gallery to see what is possible. Or, give us a call for a consultation with Dr. Movassaghi. We’ll be happy to discuss your options for improving your breast shape.

“Knowing how I used to look before having my kids, I had a hard time accepting what I was left with. I now feel more confident than I did even in high school. Your work is amazing and I truly appreciate what you’ve done for my self-esteem.”

Will I need to get implants with my breast lift?

A breast lift can be successful with or without breast implants—it all depends on your aesthetic goals. If you are happy with your current breast size when you are wearing a bra, a breast lift alone will give you firmer, perkier breasts without substantially changing your breast size.

However, if you would like to change the size of your breasts, or if you have lost a great amount of breast volume (common after significant weight loss or pregnancy), having a breast augmentation at the same time as a breast lift can help you improve both shape and size.

Breast augmentation can be performed during the same operation as a breast lift, and the recovery process is typically the same as having a breast lift alone.

Breast Lift Surgery with Dr. Movassaghi in Eugene

Breast lift surgery is done on an outpatient basis under sedation and local or general anesthesia. Dr. Movassaghi performs surgery at McKenzie Surgery Center or Sacred Heart Medical Center in Eugene, Oregon. During surgery, the nipple-areolar complex is repositioned higher, excess skin is removed, and the breast is reshaped into a more pleasing contour and position. If you are having a breast augmentation at the same time as a breast lift, Dr. Movassaghi will insert your chosen implants through the same incisions required for the breast lift.

Breast Lift Recovery

You will go home wearing a supportive, soft-shelled bra with only light dressings over the incision lines. The bra is worn as a “dressing” for 4 to 6 weeks. Most patients find soreness and discomfort tolerable and only require pain medication for the first few days after surgery. You will be walking around the same evening as your surgery, and light activities may be started in 7 to 10 days. Typically, patients with a desk job feel ready to return to work after only a week or so, and a fitness regime may be gradually resumed after about 3 weeks.

It’s important to remember that the recovery timeline after breast lift surgery will vary from patient to patient depending on the extent of surgery and your body’s own healing processes. You can help ensure an optimal recovery by following Dr. Movassaghi’s post-op instructions to the letter.

Breast Lift Results

By taking good care of yourself and leading a healthy lifestyle, you can enjoy the benefits of breast lift surgery for many years. With the excess, sagging skin removed and your breast shape improved, having a breast lift is akin to starting over with regards to the gradual effects of gravity. In fact, you should continue to enjoy a better breast shape than you had before, even as you experience a natural amount of sagging years down the road. However, any future pregnancies or a significant weight change likely will impact your results. Therefore, we typically recommend postponing breast lift surgery until you are finished having children.

Frequently Asked Questions about Breast Lifts

A breast lift primarily reshapes and raises the breasts but does not significantly change their size. It’s common for patients to go down about one cup size, but it can vary. If you desire a smaller or larger cup size, a breast reduction or augmentation with implants can be performed along with the lift.

All surgical procedures require incisions that result in some scarring, including breast lift surgery. However, Dr. Movassaghi takes special care to place incisions in inconspicuous locations so they can easily be hidden beneath a bra or bikini top. Typically, one incision will be made around the edge of the areola (a “peri-areolar” incision), and in some cases, a second will be made in the crease underneath the breast. With proper care, the resulting scars will heal into very thin, often barely perceptible lines that will fade significantly over time.

Most patients retain the ability to breastfeed after a breast lift, but there is a small risk that milk ducts may be affected. If you plan to have children and breastfeed in the future, be sure to discuss this with Dr. Movassaghi during your consultation.

The results of a breast lift are long-lasting, but natural aging, gravity, and lifestyle factors (like weight fluctuations) will still affect the breasts over time. Maintaining a stable weight and wearing supportive bras can help prolong your results.

Results are noticeable immediately after the procedure, but initial swelling may obscure the final shape. It can take several weeks for the swelling to fully subside and for your breasts to settle into their new position.

The cost varies depending on the extent of the procedure required to meet your goals, as well as if you choose to add any additional surgical or non-surgical procedures to your plan. We will provide you with an exact quote during your initial consultation.

If you plan to become pregnant in the future, it’s worth noting that pregnancy can alter the results of a breast lift. Many women choose to wait until they are done having children before undergoing the procedure. Breast lift results are quite durable, so you may still be pleased with your breasts’ appearance after pregnancy and/or breastfeeding. If you have significant tissue changes post-pregnancy, it is safe to have a secondary breast surgery to restore the initial results for most patients.

Yes, a breast lift can be combined with other procedures, such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, or body contouring treatments (such as liposuction or CoolSculpting), to achieve more comprehensive results. Discuss your goals with Dr. Movassaghi during the consultation so he can help you choose the right combination for results you’ll love.

A breast lift is ideal for women who want to correct sagging and achieve a more lifted, youthful appearance without significantly altering breast size. Implants, on the other hand, add volume. Dr. Movassaghi can help determine which option (or a combination of both) is best for you.

Light activities, such as walking, can usually be resumed within a few days after surgery. However, you should avoid strenuous exercise or lifting weights for at least 4-6 weeks, or until Dr. Movassaghi clears you to do so.
